Investigate the World
During 11th grade, my Korean class had to produce a Taekwondo powerpoint with the information about its history, belts, moment in Olympics, and Poomsae. We were to make this powerpoint before we learn the actual martial arts. In addition, we performed and practiced the techniques of Taekwondo. This powerpoint and the act of learning the self defense techniques allowed me to investigate the world because I took the time to learn the moves of a martial art that did not originate in America or in the Philippines. I committed each move and technique, such as the specific punches and kicks, to my heart. Additionally, I investigated the world by learning about another culture that is not my own.
